Colorless sky

Been there, done that.

Fashion bloggers are often accused of wearing clothes inappropriately thin for snowy winter setting they sometimes choose for their photo-shoots. Been there, done that. I had my fair share of frozen limbs, but, hey, we would do anything for a good shot. This time, my problem was entirely different - in contrast to Scandinavian picture-perfect -15 degrees outside, it was infernally hot in Jovana's studio. In our fight against winter hot, Milan, Jovana et moi reached for some chilled dark beer with a slice of orange, a combo I would warmly recommend. This is my retro inspiration, seen through Jovana's lens.

This time an attention stealer surely is that asymmetric silk jacket, so meticulously crafted by my seamstress. We've been collaborating since my prom night, and I would never change her. I love my Desa both for supporting all my impossible fashion ideas and dreams and having the skill to turn them into reality.

Vežite pojaseve! // Buckle your (seat)belts!

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Because we are about to take off. Hope you will enjoy your flight from London to Milan.

Let's start with oversize Acne belts, all along with pull in case of emergency ring. No wonder waist is in limelight again this season, being the essence of feminine silhouette. A bit different this time, though - iconoclastic combo of low-rise pants and high-cut tops smells like 90s, in the best sense of word.

Volim londonsku nedelju mode jer na njoj svoje radove prikazuju i diplomci čuvenog Central Saint Martins koledža. Kada sam rekla vežite pojaseve, mislila sam ozbiljno - pogledajte samo kako je slobodno drapirane forme ukrotio jedan od njihovih studenata, Yifang Wan.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

 I love London fashion week because young designers from Central Saint Martins College get their chance to shine. When I said fasten your (seat)belts I meant it seriously - just look how magnificently Yifang Wan tied all the floating forms and draped materials with those statement belts!

Ladies and gentlemen, we landed safely on Milan runway(s). Thank you for flying with me, I will only quote my friend Nenad Janjatović: "As time goes by, I grow up and start realizing that Prada is more a religion than a brand." Bold detailing on a seemingly simple base, yet with a twist - the result being a maverick collection you can actually wear. Grandma Vivienne might object but Miuccia makes the best punk as far as I'm concerned.

Intimate

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Is it a brooch, a necklace, or an earpiece? A bit of everything, and not a lot of anything. One golden button, couple of golden chains and a brooch pin later, et voilà...I've been a bit busy DIYing with all the gold, and the result is here, hope you like it!

New York, bits & pieces

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I don't really expect too much of an innovative approach when it comes to New York fashion week.Oh, Marc Jacobs please forgive me of my sins, but I have this impression that american designers often simply interpret trends that have proven that they were here to stay, usually initiated by the more experiment-prone bunch on the other side of the ocean. We are all aware of competitiveness and unforgiving nature of american liberal capitalism, which surely does influence the fashion industry. No matter who you are, there's simply no room for experimentation or a 'bad' season that it might lead to it, as you will get - fired. Look on the bright side of things - the result is very practical and wearable, yet still very chic. Ready-to-wear in the true sense of word!

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I must admit i didn't see it coming, but nevertheless I fell in love with BCBG Max Azria vision for the upcoming winter. I'm not much of a fan, usually, but this time I was pleasantly surprises to see that he departed from his usual design approach (a bit too much on a conventional side for me) and gave a geometric trend a try. Not that he's the pioneer of fashion geometry, but I have to give him credits for smooth borrowing (or should I say interpreting :) from other designers who've already gave their geometric opinion.

//  Max Azria managed to surprise me again - this time I fell in love with leather harnesses he used for F/W 2012 Hervé Léger collection.
// Last, but not the least, I have to take a bow in front of Mister (or Master) Jacobs, as his Alice in wonderland surrealism was a far cry from this pragmatic, truly ready to wear wish list.
